With the intention of putting a turbo, and needing space for the intercooler, we decided to try to remote mount the AC condenser. We contacted Classic Auto Air in Tampa, and purchased a 16X18 parallel flow condenser. This decreased the size significantly when compared to the old tube and fin design. The Sanden 508-style compressor is located with a Kwik AC compressor bracket with ac lines attached to the original accumulator and evaporator The condenser is mounted in the passenger side rear wheel well with a Derale 12 inch fan and a PWM fan controller set at about 60%. Blowing cold and leaving room for custom radiator and intercooler in the front. Scott

Looks good man, the idea I had was to get a later model Hemi such as one out of the Charger like my 13 model as it has a huge 19" electric cooling fan and the Hemi computer would control it or get a Ram 1500 Hemi and just use this fan www.deltapag.com/

The Derale 12 inch fan we chose, model 16926 is about as big as you can put in this space. But it pulls 2000 cfm at 21 amps, and is way...way overkill for either AC condenser or trans cooler, or intercooler, or whatever would go in this space.
I am going to use this flex-a-lite controller 31165, to slow the fan speed by about 1/2. It is similar to the controller you are looking at. Putting an L-pad in place of the coolant sensor would allow 0-100% adjustment of the fan speed.
Just haven't got there yet.

After a couple of hot summers in Florida with this setup, I would recommend a larger condenser. When the temperature is > 90 degrees, the high side pressure really goes up, and the efficiency really goes down. When my ac compressor dies, I am going to use 2 16X18 condensers sandwiched together in the same space. This will also allow for a slower, and quieter fan speed.

As for the controller, I ended up with a 50 AMP Continious Current Digital PWM HHO Controller, designed for a hydrogen fuel cell. It came with infinitely adjustable L pad for speed. I put it in a Rubbermaid container on the back wall of the cab.

AC compressors only have one real control. Located in the low pressure return line, somewhere after the accumulator (drier), is a switch. It closes (starts the compressor) when the pressure is low, and opens (stops the compressor) when the pressure is high.
The power (12v) goes directly to the compressor clutch, through the low pressure switch, and to the AC selector, which acts as a ground for the system. The MAX AC and AC settings only control the door that allows outside air in, or recirculates air from inside. The AC compressor also comes on in the defrost mode.
You should plan on putting a binary safety switch in the high pressure side, just after the compressor, and before the condenser. This will cut the compressor off if the pressure is too low (leak) or too high (not enough heat dissipation).
I would recommend finding an ac guy (I found one on craigslist), who is interested in working with custom stuff. Local shops usually don't want to mess with it, and hot rod shops charge too much. You will need someone who can braze fittings, and also a way to press-fit custom lines.
