Tear out old brake lines
Take out center pin
Hit axle with dead blow hammer
C clip and trhust washer
Broken clutch disc
Carrier bearing adjuster tool
Flange hold tool from Ratech
Pull flange with harmonic balancer tool. This works better than teh Ratech tool
Beat the shit out of the pinion seal
Axle bearings out with seals on puller
Old seal
Beat old front pinion race with brass drift
Air hammer for main pinion bearing
Set new race using old race and seal driver
New races in
Ratech solid space instead of crush sleeve
Solid spacer on new pinion with dummy bearings
Vs crush sleeve on old pinion
Leave a couple of bolts to beat the old ring gear off. Need to get the reluctor ring off
Use shop press to hold new carrier for torquing
Press new pinion bearing on with exhaust pipe
Backlash
Axle bearing. Carrier adjuster bearing is seen inside
Turn flange around and use it to set the new seal
And on 2000 and older, go with rear disc brakes. Night and day difference
Put your old LSD in a cat litter bucket. It gives the trash guy a handle to pick it up with.
Rear disc under 15 inch wheels
Final install. Dont forget the little clips on the carrier caps that keep the adjusters from backing off.
