After being contacted about the possibility of swapping the LS engine into a 3rd gen Dak/Dur with a 3.7 or 4.7 "next gen magnum", I did some research. Here is what I found: 1) The engine perches in the 3rd gen platform remained the same, even when Chrysler went to the "New Generation" Magnum motor, Which they called the "Powertech". These engines became available in the 3rd gen platform in 2000, (with the 3.7 appearing in the final year of the dakota, 2004) and continued through the end of the platform run, which stopped in 2004. These picture show the perches: And this shows that the fuel tank is the same, or similar Giving the possibility that our adapter plates and fuel line kit will be the same for any 2000 - 2004 dakota or durango. Hopefully we will be starting this swap soon to see how it goes. Scott
