I have a 88 Dakota that I'm looking to get rid of the ole 3.9 and drop a 5.3 in it. Main question is motor mounts. I'm decent with fabrication but not the best by any means and was wondering if the motor mounts I've seen on the newer gen dakotas with an LS will work on my older Dakota? I did a solid axle swapped my Dakota so the upper control arms won't give me any issue cause there non existent now. Any knowledge on LS swap in first gen dakotas would be greatly appreciate thanks

I've had several people ask me about this, but no one has ordered a set of plates to try them. I don't know anything about the older Dakota chassis. If you have the engine out, send me pictures of the frame and motor mounts, maybe I tell if my plates will work.

I have a 87 Dakota that I will be pulling the motor in that I will be swapping a LS into. I will take some pics when I do so, I am also curious if the mounts will work.

Please post them so we can see. I've never worked on the older Dak's, so I don't have a clue what they look like. 2000 Durango ZL1 AWD 1999 Dakota R/T 6.0/6l90
