I thought I would post a clear picture of the modification required to the driver's side motor perch to use with the adapter plates. The plates add 1 1/4 inch in thickness, so a notch is made to keep the motor aligned, and let it sit in the original perches. I also deepened both sides by about 1/2 inch to allow the truck manifold to fit under the shelf. Car manifolds will clear without trouble.

I see you lowered the hole by 1/2" on both sides, how far to the d.s did you go with new hole on d.s perch? is it 1-1/4"?

I just responded to your text. I wish I could tell you the exact dimension, but I don't remember. I sat the motor in, eyeballed it, and made a mark where to notch.
