I am trying to swap in a 5.3 in place of my 4.7 in my 2002 dodge ram 1500 4x2, I was wondering if anyone could tell me if the Dakota ls swap mounts might work

I am trying to swap in a 5.3 in place of my 4.7 in my 2002 dodge ram 1500 4x2, I was wondering if anyone could tell me if the Dakota ls swap mounts might work As far as I know, the perches on the frame are the same as the 3.8/5.2/5.9 trucks. I had a guy buy a set of plates for a 4.7 swap, and he confirmed this. You will need to buy 5.9 motor mounts, like these  and  He did not finish his truck, as far as I know. But he did have the old motor out, and posted pics on here. Look for the Quad cab dakota swap thread on this site. |

Sorry. I see now that this is for a Ram. These adapter plates work to adapt The magnum bolt pattern to the LS bolt pattern, and widen the width between the motor mount bolts by about 1/2 inch. I would assume you could use ram 5.2/5.9 motor mounts, and it would work the same. You have to be able to widen the perches by about 1/2 inch on each side.
